Laminam

Frequently asked questions

How is the price of a Laminam worktop worked out?

Laminam stones start at 224 €/m² in our catalogue, but prices vary between series and each stone’s exact price is on its card. The kitchen total also depends on the thickness (12 or 20 mm), edge work, cut-outs, transport and installation. A Book Match pair needs two matched slabs and can use more material — you’ll see this in the quote before you order.

Which Laminam surface should I choose for a kitchen island?

For an island seen from every side, an I Naturali marble pattern works well, or a Book Match pair whose veins mirror each other from the joint. If the island doubles as a dining table, go for a matt or brushed finish, as fingerprints and water drops show less than on a polished surface. Make the decision at the showroom in front of a sample and a full-size photo: a large pattern feels different in a room than on a screen.

Does Laminam need sealing?

No. Laminam is a ceramic that doesn’t absorb liquid, so coffee, oil and red wine come off with a damp cloth and washing-up liquid. A soft brush lifts dirt out of the small hollows in brushed and Bocciardata surfaces. Ceramic isn’t afraid of chemicals, but for everyday cleaning you don’t need anything strong.

How is a Laminam worktop installed, and how long does it take?

Measurement within a week: we laser-measure the room and draw the slabs with their joints, cut-outs and edge profile — for a Book Match pair, also where the axis of symmetry falls. Installation 10 working days from drawing approval; the cutting and grinding happen within that time at our factory in Patika. 10-year warranty on the stone surface when Stoneks measures, delivers and installs.

Laminam or Dekton — which should I choose?

Both are ceramic: hot pans, sun and scratches do them no harm, neither needs sealing, and with both it pays to avoid knocks to the edge. The difference lies in the maker and the range. Laminam is an Italian brand whose stones in our catalogue are 12 or 20 mm thick; Dekton is made by Spain’s Cosentino and is also listed in thinner and thicker versions. Starting prices: Laminam from 224 €/m², Dekton from 186 €/m².
