Matt beige terrazzo made in Italy in a 20 mm slab. A warm, speckled surface for bathroom vanities, kitchen worktops and window sills.
Catalogue · Terrazzo
Terrazzo began on Italian floors, where stone chips were set in a binder and ground smooth. Today’s terrazzo slab brings the same speckled pattern to the kitchen worktop, the bathroom vanity top and the windowsill. And the pattern doesn’t stop at the surface — it runs right through the slab. Our catalogue has 9 terrazzo slabs from 251 €/m²; the Italian Terrazzo slabs are matt and 20 mm thick.
Pattern
Terrazzo colours in our catalogue
The names Carrara, Verde Alpi and Grigio Carnico are borrowed from famous Italian marbles. The size and density of the stone chips vary from slab to slab, so judge the pattern from a full-size photo rather than a small piece.
White base
Terrazzo Calacatta and Terrazzo Carrara are white slabs that liven up a light kitchen without letting the pattern take over the room.
Greys
Grigio Carnico and Fior di Pesco are grey terrazzos that sit comfortably next to concrete, black metal and oak.
Warm and green
Perlato Royal and Breccia Oniciata are beige and warm, Verde Alpi green. The green tone brings a white or grey kitchen to life and also suits a bathroom vanity top.
Who it suits
Where terrazzo works and where it doesn’t
Terrazzo is a playful material: it either brings a room to life or becomes too busy. At the showroom you’ll find out which will happen in yours.
Terrazzo suits you if
- a light, simple kitchen needs one playful detail on the worktop
- there are children in the family and the surface has to forgive crumbs and fingerprints
- the bathroom vanity top, windowsill and wall could all be one material
- you prefer a matt surface that doesn’t reflect the lamplight
Terrazzo isn’t for you if
- pans go straight from the hob onto the worktop — for that, choose ceramic stone
- the worktop is going onto a terrace or into an outdoor kitchen
- you want the calm veining of natural stone, not a speckled pattern — look at marble or quartzite
In practice
Terrazzo in everyday use
The edge carries the same pattern
Because the stone chips are mixed through the full thickness of the slab, a straight, chamfered or rounded edge looks just like the surface. There’s no need for a mitred corner joint to get a thicker look — the Terrazzo slabs in our catalogue are 20 mm thick.
Matt surface
A matt finish doesn’t reflect lamplight or show fingerprints as clearly as a glossy surface. Ordinary washing-up liquid is enough for a greasy spot.
Heat and blades
The composite’s binder isn’t designed for direct heat, so lift hot pans onto a trivet. Cut bread and vegetables on a chopping board, and the matt surface will stay even.
Joints and cut-outs
The speckled pattern hides a joint well, so a long worktop or kitchen island is easy to make in terrazzo. We cut the sink and hob openings on the CNC machine at our factory in Patika, near Tallinn.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a terrazzo worktop cost?
Terrazzo slabs start at 251 €/m² in our catalogue, and each slab’s price is on its card. The final price of the worktop is shaped by the number of slabs, the sink and hob cut-outs, the edge profile, transport and installation — all shown separately in the quote. Quote within 24 hours on working days; you can also pay with an LHV furnishing loan.
Is terrazzo suitable for a kitchen worktop?
Yes: terrazzo slabs are made for kitchen worktops, bathrooms, windowsills and walls. The speckled pattern hides breadcrumbs and dried water drops better than a plain colour, which makes it a forgiving surface for families with children. Because it’s a composite, hot pans go on a trivet and terrazzo stays indoors — for an outdoor kitchen on the terrace, choose Dekton.
Does terrazzo need sealing?
No. Our terrazzo slabs are a composite that doesn’t absorb liquid. A damp microfibre cloth cleans the matt surface; for a greasier spot, add a little washing-up liquid. Still, wipe up coffee, wine and lemon juice straight away, so nothing is left standing on the surface. Leave scouring powder and solvents aside, as they can damage the matt finish.
How quickly is a terrazzo worktop ready?
Measurement within a week and installation 10 working days from drawing approval. From the laser measurements we draw the worktop with its cut-outs and joints and send it to you for approval; the speckled pattern helps hide the joint. The slabs are cut and ground at our factory in Patika, and our own installers fit them. Lifetime warranty on the stone surface when Stoneks measures, delivers and installs.
Terrazzo or Technistone’s Taurus series — what’s the difference?
Both are composites with a speckled terrazzo pattern, so in everyday use they behave much alike: no sealing needed, and hot pans go on a trivet. The difference is in origin and look. The Italian Terrazzo slabs are matt and carry the names of classic marbles such as Carrara, Verde Alpi and Grigio Carnico; the Technistone Taurus series is Czech engineered quartz. Starting prices: terrazzo from 251 €/m², Technistone from 167 €/m².
