Granite

Catalogue · Granite

Granite is a natural stone that shrugs off hot pans and years of hard kitchen use, and no two slabs share quite the same pattern. The Stoneks catalogue has 36 granites, from deep black Nero Assoluto to the bluish shimmer of Blue Pearl, priced from 152 €/m². Before you decide, you can look at a sample and a full-size photo of each granite at our Noblessner showroom.

Who it suits

When granite is the right choice — and when it isn’t

Granite’s strengths and limits in one place. You’ll decide most confidently once you see the stones in person: at the showroom we put the varieties you’re considering side by side.

Choose granite if

  • you cook a lot and a hot pan sometimes reaches the worktop before the trivet does — granite handles normal kitchen heat
  • you want a natural stone whose pattern exists only on your slab
  • you love a deep, even black (Nero Assoluto) or a lively crystal pattern (Blue Pearl, Star Galaxy, Baltic Brown)
  • occasional sealing doesn’t sound like a chore — all it takes is a cloth and a bottle of sealer

Choose something else if

  • every slab has to look exactly the same — then look at quartz
  • sealing is out of the question: non-porous Dekton and quartz never need it
  • you dream of a white surface with soft grey veining — that look comes from marble

Varieties

Our granites by character

The name points you in a direction; the slab makes the decision — tone can vary slightly between blocks of the same variety. If the variety you’re after isn’t here, ask us: 100+ stones in stock and nearly 600 more within a week’s delivery.

Solid black

Nero Assoluto is a deep black stone with almost no pattern, listed both polished to a gloss and as a flamed and brushed matt. Angola Black, Nero Africa and Nero Santa Lucia are dark too, but differ in grain and sparkle — they’re worth comparing side by side.

Black with a pattern

Star Galaxy scatters golden and copper flecks across a black base, while Black Forest runs pale, wavy veins over a dark surface. Both bring a dark kitchen to life without adding another colour.

A bluish shimmer

The large crystals in Blue Pearl and Emerald Pearl flash blue or green in the light, so the surface changes as the light does. Blue In the Night is a dark stone with a bluish tint.

Green

Verde Bahia and Verde Savana are granites with a green base tone that pair well with wood, brass and light kitchen fronts. A good choice when the kitchen needs one bold detail.

Grey and light

Steel Grey is an even, steel-coloured grey, and Bohus Grey and Grigio Cristallo have a grey base tone. Bianco Sardo and Rosa Beta are light stones with dark speckles, Rosa Beta with a faint pink tint.

Brown, gold and red

Baltic Brown has large round grains on a brown surface, while dark veins swirl across the reddish base of Rosso Multicolor. Cosmic Gold brings a warm, golden tone to the kitchen.

In practice

What to expect from granite in the kitchen

Cleaning and sealing

A damp cloth and a pH-neutral detergent are all you need day to day. Renew the sealer when the surface starts to absorb water — an easy job you can do yourself. Abrasive pastes and acidic cleaners wear the sealer away faster.

Hot pans and knives

In normal kitchen use a pan straight from the hob won’t harm granite, but if something hot stays on the surface for longer — a table grill, say — put a mat under it. Granite is highly scratch-resistant and is more likely to blunt your knife, so keep cutting on a board.

Thickness, edge and joint

The most common thickness for granite is 20 mm, and you choose the edge profile on the drawings: straight, chamfered or rounded. If the kitchen needs a joint, we place it so that the pattern carries across as naturally as possible.

Cut-outs for sink and hob

We make the cut-outs on the CNC machine at our own factory in Patika, following the drawings you approve. Undermount and top-mounted sinks and induction hobs all work; seal the area around the sink with extra care, as that is where most moisture collects.

Frequently asked questions

What goes into the price of a granite worktop?

Granite starts at 152 €/m² including VAT, and every stone’s price is shown in the catalogue below. A finished worktop also includes measuring, edge work, cut-outs for the sink and hob, transport and installation. These appear as separate lines in the quote, so you know the total before the slab is cut.

How often does granite need sealing?

It depends on the stone and the finish: dense, dark polished granite rarely needs it, while lighter, coarser-grained stone usually needs it more often. The simple test is a drop of water — if the stone darkens underneath, it’s time to apply sealer again. For everyday cleaning, a damp cloth and a pH-neutral detergent are enough.

Can oil or red wine stain granite?

They can if left on the surface for a while: granite is a natural stone with microscopic pores. Light varieties such as Bianco Sardo and Rosa Beta are usually more absorbent than dark ones. Sealing buys you time to wipe up spills. Unlike marble, granite won’t be etched into dull patches by lemon juice or vinegar.

How is granite different from quartz?

Granite formed in nature, so every slab is different and normal kitchen heat does it no harm, but the surface needs sealing now and then. Quartz is a factory-made composite with an even pattern and no need for sealing, but because of its resin binder a hot pan needs a trivet. Choose granite if you value a one-of-a-kind natural pattern, and quartz if you prefer even colour and minimal care.

Can I see a granite slab with my own eyes before ordering?

Yes, and with natural stone it’s well worth it: two slabs of the same variety can differ in tone and pattern. At our Noblessner showroom at Vesilennuki 20 you see each granite as a sample alongside a full-size photo; the most popular granites are on display as full slabs. Visits are by appointment — tell us which stones interest you and we’ll have them ready.
