Black granite rarely goes out of style, and Star Galaxy from India is a polished example of it. The stone suits modern and traditional kitchens alike.
Granite tolerates heat, so pans from the stove are less of a worry than on engineered surfaces, and a sealer every so often keeps it protected against oil. Use 20 mm on a regular counter and 30 mm on an island.
Because granite is a natural product, judge it in Noblessner from samples and full-size images, and only then commit.
