Quartz on the wall, not just the counter, removes the grout lines that trap grease behind a hob. Silestone Snowy Ibiza can do both: 12 mm panels for the wall and 20 or 30 mm for the worktop, so the white surface runs unbroken from counter to cabinets.
Made in Spain, it is offered polished or with a suede texture. Splashes wipe off its closed surface, and no sealing is required. Heat directly from a pan is the one thing to avoid, so keep a trivet handy. Bathrooms and indoor window sills are suitable uses too.
