Caesarstone keeps the specification of Empira Black short: matt black quartz, made in Israel, 20 mm thick. The matt finish takes the shine off black, which suits minimal kitchens.
Quartz is non-porous, so a sealer never comes out of the cupboard. Dark matt surfaces can show fingerprints and grease, so a quick wipe with a microfibre cloth keeps it even. Hot pans go on a board or trivet, never straight onto the top.
