Marble is one of the most porous types of stone. It is formed from limestone under high pressure and temperature so that the composition and structure of the original rock changes. Since it is so porous, it also absorbs liquids and fats more easily. This is why maintaining the beauty of a marble countertop requires a little more care than usual. Wipe away stains as quickly as possible to prevent them from soaking in and permanently damaging the stone’s appearance. A simple way is to wipe with a damp cloth, if necessary you can use a mild detergent, such as green soap. If possible, always use some form of protective covering when working on marble countertops.
Marble comes in a variety of patterns and colours. Check out our wide selection to find the stone that is right for you!
